My life since my last update has taken more twists, turns and roller coaster ups and downs than an amusement park. One thing in all of it that has been constant is the constant feeling that I am behind or there is something else that I should be doing. I suppose that it is partially true and I usually have two other things I should or could be doing.

Caution: The following text comes from a Patriotic, Republican with relatives in AZ…
I would like to point out that aside from the obvious law breaking and tax avoidance, I have no beef with any Illegal Aliens that aspire to be law abiding Citizens. I do have beef with Citizens that seem to think we should Tip-Toe around peoples feelings when dealing with SOME people that break the law but not others. Imagine if Police were not able to ask a person if they have any prior’s, or imagine if Police were not able to run warrant checks on people to make sure they are not a parole violator.

Case and Point: Phillip Craig Garrido and the case of Jaycee Lee Dugard

“In 2006 one of Garrido’s neighbors called 9-1-1 to inform them there were tents in the backyard with children living there and that Garrido was “psychotic” with sexual addictions. A deputy sheriff spoke with Garrido at the front of the house for about thirty minutes and left after telling him there would be a code violation if people were living outside on the property.”

So three extra years that girl was there before she was found because the police did not check to see if the convicted rapist and kidnapper.. had kidnapped again.

I realize that is a stretch to connect immigrants and parole violators but law enforcement needs to be able to ask people to verify, they are who they say they are.

I have often said I strongly believe that NO other country is as welcoming to immigration, and paperless residents as the US 0f A. and if the US had several million citizens living in Canada without proper paperwork they would get rounded up and shipped out.. Same goes for Mexico.

While I was reading ABC news about The AZ law about immigration, and the Mexican President who was in Washington complaining about how the US is handling illegal immigrants…

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iWIFRAZgaPp88VR9tjCkLRyWCyJwD9FQIAV80

and

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Politics/michelle-obama-caught-immigration-debate/story?id=10694734

and I found this comment on the post

Dear Mr. President Obama:
I’m planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. We’re planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico , and we’ll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I’m sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I’m on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history. 6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver’s license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico but I don’t plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won’t make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U. S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I’ll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I’ll need Income tax credits so although I don’t pay Mexican Taxes, I’ll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov’t pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I’ll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. from Mexico … I am sure that President Calderon won’t mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. Thank you so much for your kind help. You’re the man!!!

We all know that is a bit of an exaggeration, but some of it is either perceived or true. There are a growing number of US citizens that feel that they are being taken advantage of, by people ‘working the system.’ My response to them is simple: Why do we worry about the small percentage of Illegals that take advantage of the system when there is an entire class in our nation that is welfare dependent and living on the government. We have created these safeguards to keep our nation’s poor from going hungry, and so many have become so utterly dependent on it that there is no way to remove it now. Furthermore, the mass of the ‘government subsidized class’ have become a voting demographic that are turning our government into a piggy-bank.

Let Arizona deal with the population in Arizona. Everyone else go back to not caring like you have for so many years.

My routine is broken and I don’t know how to fix it.
I am beginning to wonder if I should give up on some things so I can free up some space in my life.

I set out to get into shape, and look better for my wife, and it seems she has done much better at what I set out to do.

I guess that really means I should ‘man up’ and finish something I start for once.

Tonight was the disgraced walk of shame back to the treadmill. It was standing there looking at me with a scowl, as if to say “I told you so: I knew you couldn’t hack it.”

But persistence is what it takes to overcome, and a two week absence is a tough thing to explain. But with a week of the flu, and then a week of hell at work, I let it go. But this is the turning point. This is where I stand up, and force my self to continue, force myself to get back on the treadmill. Because this is where I usually just let it go; but not this time. Today I made myself shamefully overcome my procrastination and started my goal over again. This time, however, I will make it, I will not let myself go anymore.

I ran 1.25 mi
15.02 minutes

Square 1 is not a bad place to be, but let’s not spend much time here.
