Family affair – Forrest Gump never had a treadmill.

Mia and I worked out side by side tonight. After first putting the “big girl’ bed in Maura’s room and moving the newly acquired treadmill and elliptical machine into the spare room; Mia and I got our exercise.

The treadmill makes running in the rain totally out of the “must do to survive this challenge” and is now moved into the “if I am crazy and want to get wet” category.

I still like running outside, the fresh air, scenery and freedom that I feel running on the road is just great.

I don’t know my stats tonight. I know I ran somewhere around 2.3 to 2.5 miles. The problem is that I have not gotten the hang of the treadmill. When I stopped to address a belt rubbing issue, it reset the timer. And then when I wanted to see my speed instead of calories burned it reset again. It turns out the “display” button (the only button on the thing” resets the display. If you want to see speed, time, or distance, you have to wait for it to scroll into view. Its annoying, but better than nothing.
I had 6 minutes 30 seconds and .78 Mi on the first time it reset,
5 minutes 20 something seconds and .58ish Mi the second time.
and 13 to 15 minutes and 1.2 or 1.4 the third time.
Then I finished off with a 5 minute .39mi slowdown and quit pace.

next time, now that I am aware of how this display button is out to get me, I will be more careful to keep the thing going on uber slow so that it doesn’t reset when I stop to yell at Maura, or take off my shirt.

After all the running I also did 30 sit ups.
My tummy hurts now.
g-night all.
